Jamie Johnson - General Manager - NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installer™ 031310-118

Jamie is our GM and handles all of our solar electric designs from 5 kilowatt string inverter systems to 1+ megawatt central inverter systems. He first began working with solar electric technology in the late 70’s when his dad would bring home solar cells from Bell Labs/Western Electric to use in science projects, and has seen the solar electric industry grow from a dream of powering a few light bulbs to a reality of actually offsetting most or all of a buildings electric utility usage. Jamie has a very diverse background that includes managing a hedge fund and working for the IRS early on in his career.  Jamie has attended over 144 hours of specialized solar electric design and installation training including the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) “Installing PV” class and is factory trained to install solar electric inverters up to 1.25 megawatts.

Jamie also serves as the Executive Director of the Solar Electric Contractors Association, which is dedicated to providing education to the consumer about solar electric systems, the applicability of rebates and tax credits, Codes and Standards for the installation and sales of solar electric systems, and training for the future solar electric workforce.

Jim is one of our owners and has been an electrician for over 40 years. He first began his career at Bell Labs/Western Electric in the early 60’s working with silicon wafer technology and later moved on to high voltage grid tied parallel power production with AT&T Microelectronics. After retiring from AT&T he founded Certified Electric, LLC / DBA Solar Power Electric and enjoys helping home and business owners reduce their electric utility bill by installing a solar electric system. He currently resides in a grid tied solar electric powered home.  Jim has attended over 126 hours of specialized solar electric design and installation training including the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) “Installing PV” Class.
