What areas of FL do you install the solar electric systems in?

Under 25 kilowatt (kW) systems we cover from Tampa to Marco Island.

For 25 kW and up we cover the entire state of Florida.

Do you offer a performance guarantee?

Yes we do. We were the first distributed solar electric integrator/installer in SWFL to offer a performance guarantee in order to make sure that our customers actually receive what they pay for. We encourage all prospective system owners to request a performance guarantee.

Do you carry liability insurance?

We are insured to install commercial and residential projects of any size.

Can a solar electric system increase the value of my home or business?

Yes. The National Appraisal Institute found that for every $1.00 saved in energy it increases the value by a factor of 20. So if you are saving $1,200.00 per year on your energy bill, that could increase the value by approximately $24,000.00.

So how much can a solar electric system really save me on my utility bill?

Each installation is customized to the residence or business to maximize the amount of energy produced by the sun during peak demand.  Assuming a rate of 12.5 cents per kWh, the annual savings for a 5 kW system can range from $750.00 to $1,350.00, and with utility rates increasing at approximately 7% to 12% per year the annual savings will only get better.

My roof is shaded for part of the day, can I still have solar installed?

Yes, we can install systems which are designed for partial shading to maximize the energy produced by the sun.

I have a tile roof, can you install a solar electric system on a tile roof?

Yes, our systems are designed to be installed on virtually all roof types while still retaining any existing roof warranty.

Do you have a way to install solar without putting anything on my roof?

We have a ground rack system that is designed for a 140 mph wind zone. The added benefit of a ground rack mounted system vs. a roof mounted system, is the increased power production due to the cooler module temperatures.

What if my solar electric system produces more power than I can use during the day?

Thanks to net metering here in Florida, any energy produced by your solar electric system but not used by your residence or business will simply turn the meter backwards, thereby allowing you to store it for use during the times of low or nonexistent solar energy production such as during the nighttime hours.

What happens if my utility provider loses power to the grid?

The grid tied solar electric system without a battery backup is designed to only work when the utility grid is energized. If your utility provider loses power your solar electric system will stop providing power to your residence or business as well as the utility grid to keep the utility workers safe; once power is restored by your utility provider your solar electric system will function normally.

If a battery backup option is installed you can continue to run critical loads like a refrigerator or lights until the power is restored by your utility provider.

Why don’t more homes and businesses here in Florida have solar electric systems?

Until the recent emergency economic stabilization act was passed and signed into law in October 2008 the Federal tax credit was capped at $2,000.00, which was not a significant incentive. Now that that cap has been eliminated it has reduced the net cost of a 5 kW residential system effectively cutting the net cost by more than 30%. With an investment pay back time measured now in years, instead of decades, we anticipate solar electric systems to be the fastest growing residential and business improvement project in Florida over the next several years.
